How the Signode BXT3 battery strapping tool operates:

The rocker lever is used to open the tensioning mechanism, allowing the straps to be inserted.
The straps are held between the rocker’s toothplate (1) and the tension wheel (2).
Tension is applied as the tension wheel (2) rotates anti-clockwise.
The straps are joined in the welding unit (3) by means of friction welding.
The upper strap is trimmed by the blade (4).

The Signode BXT3 offers a choice of three operating modes:

• Semi-automatic (default/factory setting)

  • The tension button (see Section 3.1) must be held down until the selected tension is reached. The tool then automatically welds the straps and trims the upper strap. Welding can also be started manually at any time by pressing the welding button.

• Fully automatic

  • The tension button (see Section 3.1) only needs a brief press (touch) to start the tensioning process. When the set tension is reached, the tool automatically welds the straps and cuts the upper strap. This mode is ideal for processing large volumes.

• Manual

  • The tension button (see Section 3.1) is held down until the required strap tension is achieved. The welding button (see Section 3.1) is then briefly pressed to weld the straps and cut the upper strap. This mode is suitable for goods with varying (soft or hard) packaging.

Adjusting the strap tension on the Signode BXT3 battery strapping tool

The selected tension is shown continuously when the tool is ready for use.
► Press the “Tension force” button (2).
– The set tension flashes for 5 seconds.
– The + (1) and – (3) buttons are displayed.
– Unused displays are hidden.
► Press the + (1) or – (3) button until the required tension is shown.
– The status bar (4) indicates the set tension in relation to the maximum possible value.
► To save: Press the “Tension force” button (2) again or wait 5 seconds.
● To switch between “N” and “lbf” display: Hold the flashing “Tension force” button (2) for two seconds.
● Each button press is confirmed by an audible signal.
● The tension is displayed continuously when the tool is in use.
