The AUTOSHRINK is a fully automatic shrink wrapping machine made up of two units: an automatic side sealer wraps each item in centre-folded film and seals it, then the shrink tunnel applies heat to tighten the film, processing up to 50 packs per minute depending on the product.

It handles products from 90 × 90 × 10 mm up to 500 × 400 × 120 mm (length × width × height), with the sum of width and height up to 400 mm. Designed for single, regular items with a flat base.

The sealer operates in under one second per cycle, using a Teflon-coated stainless steel blade at 180–230 °C. The shrink tunnel runs at approximately 150 °C, with an entrance measuring 450 × 250 mm and a tunnel length of 1500 mm.

Both units require 3-phase 380 V power; the sealer also needs compressed air. The machine uses POF film, thickness from 0.01 to 0.03 mm. A Siemens PLC with touch screen manages the sealer, which is driven by a Siemens servo motor.

The operator monitors the film supply and waste removal, and checks the finished packs for proper sealing and shrink. When changing product size or film type, adjust the film length and knife temperature as needed.

Operating the AUTOSHRINK

1. Switch on the main power and set the temperatures for both the horizontal and vertical knives.
2. Mount the film roll on the holder, guide the film through the separator plates and pressure rollers, and feed the waste strip to its take-up roller.
3. Adjust the separator plate and knife unit height to suit the product, with the knife line positioned 10–20 mm below the centre of the product height.
4. Set the belt width, check the compressed air supply, and start automatic mode via the touch screen.
5. Place products on the infeed belt along the side guide; the sealer wraps and seals, and the tunnel shrinks the film.

Settings and maintenance

• Film length per pack. Set on the touch screen as the delay before cutting; start at about 0300 for short items and 0500 for taller ones, then fine-tune after a few packs.
• Knife temperature. 180–230 °C. If the seal tears, the temperature may be too low, the cutting time too short, or the knife may be worn.
• Compressed air. Keep below 0.3 MPa and regularly drain water from the air filter regulator.
• Daily maintenance. After each shift, wipe film residue from the knife with a soft cloth, ideally just after switching off at 90–100 °C.
• Cleaning. Clean plastic parts with a soft cloth and suitable cleaner, never with water or solvents.
• Do not wrap. Loose or damp products, unpackaged liquids, flammable or explosive items, and aerosol cans. For food, always use food-grade film.

Selecting and preparing for AUTOSHRINK

Frequent errors include using film that is too thick or thin for the item, incorrect knife temperature, or feeding uneven or unstable products. To prevent jams, ensure correct product spacing and set the infeed belt to the right width. For optimal results, trial the film and settings with your actual products before starting full production.
