TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

TONNA E80 baler with open door, pressing chamber showing strap guides and two strap reels aboveThe TONNA E80 PLC is a vertical baler designed for cardboard and plastic film, manufactured in Poland by ESPIR TECH (Ecobalers VB53). Loose material is loaded through the upper door and compacted into a strapped bale, ready for stacking on a pallet.

Industries and uses: TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

The TONNA E80 PLC is ideal for grocery stores, small warehouses, catering businesses, hotels, factories and retail premises that produce loose cardboard or plastic film waste. It is suitable for locations with limited space where frequent waste removal is expensive or inconvenient. This baler helps keep workspaces tidy and reduces the frequency of waste collections by producing compact, stackable bales for recycling.

Typical users are facility managers and waste handling teams who need to manage packaging waste from deliveries, dispatch or daily activity. The baler is commonly positioned near loading bays, storerooms or waste points to fit into existing routines. Its compact design allows installation in backrooms or service areas with standard ceiling heights.

The press delivers up to 4 tonnes of force and produces bales weighing 40–60 kg for cardboard and 50–70 kg for film, with a maximum of 75 kg. Each bale measures 80 × 40 × 80 cm; width and depth are fixed, while the operator sets the height.

TONNA E80 vertical baler for cardboard and plastic filmEach cycle takes 27 seconds. The press starts automatically when the upper door is closed, and the machine indicates when the bale is complete.

Daily operation: TONNA E80 PLC

For best performance, material should be spread evenly in the chamber. Overfilling or uneven loading may result in misshaped bales or incomplete compaction. Operators should check for blockages and ensure straps are correctly placed before starting a new bale.

Operates from a standard 230 V socket with a 1.5 kW motor, drawing 11 A. The baler measures 93 × 64 × 210 cm, weighs 325 kg and runs at 68 dB.

How the baler helps you save

  • Reduced volume, fewer collections. Loose cardboard is mostly air; once baled, it occupies far less space.
  • Bales with resale value. Clean, securely tied bales of cardboard and film are suitable for recycling rather than disposal.
  • Operated by one person. Load the material, close the top door and the press activates automatically; the machine indicates when the bale is ready.
  • Handles two types of material. Dedicated settings for both cardboard and plastic film.
  • Standard plug connection. 230 V, 1.5 kW, 11 A, C 16 circuit breaker; does not require three-phase power.
  • Generous loading aperture. The top door opens to 80 × 55 cm, so even large cartons fit without needing to be cut down.

How to produce a bale

  1. Thread the strapping down through the guides in the chamber, back through the door holes, and secure with the hook.
  2. Place a large sheet of cardboard on the base, close the lower door, and load material through the upper door.
  3. Shut the upper door: the press plate descends automatically. Repeat until the full bale indicator is shown.
  4. Lay the straps over the material, close the door, allow the platen to descend, and tie the straps while under pressure.
  5. Raise the platen, open the doors from the side, and remove the bale.

Operation and maintenance

  • Keep to the side. Open the doors from the side of the baler, as a compressed bale may force the door open.
  • Bale height adjustment. Width and depth are fixed. For a shorter bale, hold the green button for 5 seconds and the platen will stop at a lower point.
  • Tie while under pressure. Straps should be tied with the platen still pressing; if tied later, the bale may expand.
  • Daily inspection. Walk around the baler to check for any damage or oil leaks before use, and keep it clean.
  • Monthly inspection. Check the oil level, lubricate all moving components and examine electrical connections. Arrange for a qualified technician to carry out a full service once a year.
  • Installation location. Place indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area on a stable, level surface. Connection to the mains must be carried out by a certified electrician.

Before selecting the TONNA E80 PLC baler, ensure the volume and type of waste are suitable for its operation. This baler is designed for dry, uncontaminated cardboard and plastic film only. Do not use with damp, oily or soiled materials, as these may harm the press or affect bale quality. The floor must be flat and capable of bearing both the machine and the finished bale weight. Plan a safe route for removing bales from the area, as each bale is large and heavy.

Before purchasing

  • Waste volume. Each bale contains 40–60 kg of cardboard or 50–70 kg of plastic film.
  • Material type. The baler features separate settings for cardboard and film.
  • Bale handling. Bales measure 80 × 40 × 80 cm and weigh up to 75 kg. Plan for a pallet or trolley and ensure a clear exit route.
  • Space required. The baler is 93 × 64 × 210 cm and weighs 325 kg. Install indoors on a level floor with at least 210 cm headroom.
  • Power supply. Requires a 230 V socket with a C 16 circuit breaker within reach.
  • Strapping. Each bale is secured with strapping; ensure you have an adequate supply as a consumable.
