Site requirements

When selecting a location for the TONNA20 vertical baler, please consider the following points:

• The machine requires a suitable floor surface. This surface must be capable of bearing the machine’s weight, as well as supporting pallet trucks and vehicles used for transporting loads.
• There should be ample space around the machine to allow for loading, supervision, maintenance, and removal of bales.
• An electrical supply (220v / 240v) should be positioned near the machine.
• Lighting in the area where the machine is installed must comply with local occupational health and safety regulations.
• Adequate ventilation should be provided in the area where the machine is located.

Loading waste material into the machine

Once the cardboard compactors are in place, the machine is ready to be loaded. Begin by closing the lower door and filling the machine. When starting a new bale, place a large sheet of cardboard (or another suitable material) at the bottom of the hopper. This will ensure that all ties, tapes, and solid waste are retained. Only waste material should be placed in the machine. When full, the waste can be compacted again.

Compacting

The hydraulic hoses provide the clamping force needed to compact the waste. The material is compressed to minimise its volume. The baling process is as follows:

1. The bale chamber should be filled to the top of the machine.
2. To begin compaction, select the required compression setting on the control panel, then press the green button and activate the “compress” function. The machine will carry out the compression cycle and will automatically stop when finished. (The pressing plate can remain in position until the machine is refilled.)
3. To return the pressing plate to the upper position, press the green button and move it to the “pinch” setting. During this cycle, the machine will stop automatically and the plate will return to its starting position.
4. The machine will stop immediately if the red button is pressed.
5. Repeat this process until the required number of bales has been produced and compacted.
