Kraft paper tape 50 mm × 50 m

This product is self-adhesive kraft paper tape, supplied in rolls 50 mm wide as well as 50 m long. It seals cardboard boxes in the same way as plastic tape, but both the tape and the box are made from paper.

Each box contains 72 rolls, providing 3600 m of tape—ideal for extended packing runs without frequent restocking.

Manufactured from kraft paper featuring a natural rubber adhesive (solvent-based): recyclable, effective on recycled cardboard, and removes without leaving adhesive behind.

50 mm fits within the operating range of all our carton sealers. FLEX TAPE, TOP TAPE, AUTO-TAPE, RUBBER and AUTO&FOLD-5050 models all accept kraft or BOPP tape from 48 mm upwards, and it is equally suitable for use with a manual dispenser.

Kraft tape 50 mm × 50 m for packing operations

This tape is widely used in warehouses, distribution centres and e-commerce packing areas for sealing cardboard boxes for storage or onward movement. It is suitable for automatic and semi-automatic carton sealing machines as well as manual packing benches with hand-held dispensers. Typical applications include packaging consumer electronics, books, clothing, spare parts and dry foodstuffs. Kraft tape is selected where recyclable packaging is needed or where cartons will be reused.

Why choose paper tape over plastic tape

• Only one material to dispose of. A carton sealed with paper tape can be placed directly into cardboard recycling, with no need to remove a plastic strip.
• Adheres to recycled cardboard. Recycled cartons are often dusty and absorbent, where low-cost plastic tape may not stick. Paper tape with rubber adhesive bonds well.
• No sticky marks left behind. When removed, the tape does not leave adhesive residue, which is important for boxes that will be reused.
• Blends in with packaging. Brown paper tape matches brown boxes; if you wish to add printed tape later, there is no plastic strip over your branding.
• Fits your existing machines. Our carton sealing machines accept 48 to 72 mm tape, so 50 mm rolls are ready to use.
• 72 rolls per case. With 3600 metres in each box, your packing area remains supplied for several weeks.

Instructions for use

1. Insert the roll into the tape head of the carton sealer or into a manual dispenser.
2. Adjust the tape leg, folding the tape over both the front and back of the carton.
3. Close the carton flaps and pass it through; the tape head applies and cuts the tape.
4. Firmly press the tape along the seam, paying particular attention to the ends where it is folded.
5. For heavier or fully packed cartons, apply a second strip at a right angle to the first.

Kraft tape 50 mm × 50 m: selection and usage guidance

Before selecting this tape, check the dimensions and weight of your cartons to ensure a single strip provides adequate closure. For particularly large or heavy boxes, reinforce the seam or apply extra tape as needed. Kraft tape is most effective on standard shipping cartons made from single or double-wall board. For boxes with glossy or laminated finishes, test adhesion on a sample first.

To minimise waste, measure the tape length needed for each carton and set your dispenser or machine accordingly. When moving from plastic to paper tape, operators may need to adjust the sealing pressure.

Storage and handling advice

• Apply pressure. Paper tape adheres through the pressure applied. Using a roller or pressing firmly along the seam ensures the box remains sealed.
• Ensure cardboard is clean and dry. Dust, moisture, and cold reduce adhesion. Tape does not bond well to cartons straight from an unheated yard.
• Temperature guidance. Rated up to 60°C; store between 18–30°C and allow to reach room temperature before use.
• Not suitable for wet conditions. Paper tape is not water-resistant. For cartons stored outdoors, use a cover or an alternative closure.
• Keep rolls in the carton. Dust on the roll edge will affect the adhesive. Remove rolls only as needed.
• Store indoors. Keep dry and at room temperature, away from radiators and off cold floors.

The price is displayed on this page. As 50 mm tape is selected for both the box and the machine, please confirm the following before proceeding:

• Your equipment. 50 mm tape is compatible with all carton sealers we supply: FLEX TAPE, TOP TAPE and AUTO-TAPE accept 48–72 mm, RUBBER 48–60 mm, and AUTO&FOLD-5050 the same range.
• Your usage. 72 rolls of 50 m provide a total of 3,600 metres.
• The box material. Recycled, dusty or cold cardboard can cause standard tapes to fail. Paper tape with a rubber adhesive is designed for these conditions.
• Storage conditions. Not water-resistant. If storing outdoors or during wet transport, arrange suitable covering.
• Printing. This tape is plain brown. Printed tape is available as a separate order and requires additional lead time.
• Manual or machine use. This roll is suitable for both hand dispensers and tape heads.
